Welcome to my collection!

On the following pages are some of the smoking images I have collected over the last 30 years. This selection comes from some of the unsorted surplus material I have yet to set up in files. I hope to eventually post the entire collection. Of course, scanning time and bandwidth considerations will affect the time frame. The collection is rather large. You will notice many are trimmed (especially the earlier acquisitions) to simplify storage.

Most of my favorites are from the magazines of the forties and fifties, although there is some very nice work from later decades. I've decided that since I cannot possibly be the arbiter of someone else's taste, I'll be posting all the images that seem appropriate to this site. So, if you see a few you don't like, please be assured that someone else will appreciate them.

I have assigned source or copyright where it was available. It will be on the image or used in the file name. The image was scanned in it's entirety where the full page was available and text relevant to the source is included. I'll let you decide what you want to crop. Please do not e-mail me with questions regarding the source of the unmarked images. There has to be someone on the newsgroups with a better memory than mine.

Given that I don't spend as much time downloading images as I used to, I'm sure some of these works have already been posted to the Web. However, once the collection is up I'm confident you'll find a large percentage has never been seen before. As I mentioned earlier, the selection of magazines that provided these images is varied and eclectic. Consequently, if I post a work to which you hold copyright and you would feel better if it were removed simply attach a copy of the image in question and let me know you hold the copyright. Alternatively, if you would prefer a reciprocal link from the image to your site I'd be happy to do so.
