DVD compatibility
information
All DVDs are made from original digital masters.
Some useful info and a link to the compatible players list.
1. Many early DVD players cannot play some of the new style burned DVDs. Technicians have told me that DVD players manufactured after middle to late 2000 have the best chance of properly playing the disks depending on the quality of the manufacturer.
2. I've tested my DVDs on my own
Sony DVP-NC615 with complete success. (Don't get stressed ..... see item 4 below.)
3. Playstation 2 will also play these DVDs.
4. Check the Player Compatibility link below. These people are precisionists so the list of DVD units only includes models they have actually tested. Don't be alarmed if your model number is higher than one listed but not shown as being tested. That's how I picked my DVD Player at Best Buy. I was looking at a Sony DVP-NC615. The compatibility list only showed last year's model - DVP-NC600. When I fed the 615 my first DVD, it played perfectly. If the list shows that an earlier model plays them, then you can be reasonably sure they are backward compatible. You can also check with your manufacturer.
5. Televisions: Having tested the DVD on both a standard "cable ready" or "composite jack" (AKA, RCA jack, Crown jack, etc.) as well as an S-Video capable TV, It's obvious that while the S-Video DID produce the best resolution, even the standard TV did quite well.
6. If your computer has a DVD player
you should have no problems at all.
All new titles will be available
in VHS and DVD format as they are released. Older titles will be re-mastered
onto DVD as time permits.
