I'm now in California! Staying with a friend for a month hoping I can find/afford a small place of my own. It took forever to pack, load & drive from Oklahoma. . . and especially deciding what to abandon since I had to do it all myself. Thank God for double espresso's and anti-depressents.
I came back on-line just today (11-09-2007, my 54th birthday) and have a ton of work to do, boxes to dig into and pre-move orders to complete. But, I'm finally out of that hell-hole and have ended 30 years of life in a place where no native "Jersey boy" should ever have been stuck. I've finally brought Colight to a place full of life & energy. Wish me luck. Thanks Ed

Sorry for the update delay. Been dealing with so much stuff.....
I've run dozens of tests to correct the format and link problem to the suz phallic holder problem.
I've uploaded two short test clips with settings & file names that look like they might solve the problem. They are in a higher level directory which may also solve some issues.

I'll start working on pics from Emily, and if the testclips work, I'll start re-doing the MP4s.

Ramona returned to OKC allowing me to capture her new dark haired look. I shot three sets. two Marlboro red shorts, a VS 120s and chain lighting through two white 100s.
I'm installing a smaller (ISMA compliant) MP4 as I process the longer & larger files. This is also "player compatibility" test clip. I may include both scale versions with each update if I can peg down the best settings for this size clip.

When Neitchze wrote "What does not kill me makes me stronger." I'm pretty sure he was thinkin' about adding something like . ". . . But it can also really piss me off.

It's taken a month to go from "No electronic devices left in the house" to having a site computer, and thanks to family. . . One quality camera and a healthy Mac for my editing.

Losing the gear and personal stuff was nasty. Losing the hours and hours of video on those hard drives is the worst. Both old and new work has been in progress. Many of the scenes or segments were close to being completely remastered.

I've scrounged enough to add an extra drive for the editing needs & disk duplication copies I keep on the Mac. This stuff takes a LOT of drive space. It's about 5:40 AM, and after installing the drive last evening I've only loaded eight of my existing DVD Masters. -

But... I did put in some time with MP4 conversions. There's about 350 Megs worth of White 120s - 2004. Two complete Nadja segments. Ditto on Lelani's scenes and one of Maddie. - Man! They each take HOURS to render at this quality.

I'm sorry to report that I have suffered another setback. I'm OK now, but I was out for treatment for about a week - and when I got back, my entire place had been burglarized. Almost all of my equipment was stolen. Thankfully, I still have all of the video masters, but my computers, dubbing equipment and cameras were all taken. I know there are still some video orders that haven't been filled yet, but I'm working on a solution for that, as well as replacement equipment, and will update you as soon as possible.
Aaaaaargh. Sorry for the delays.
In the meantime, the member's area is fine, and here are two new clips.

- - The editing & DVD burning 'puter is lookin' good! Still have some small stuff to reload, reset pref's, etc..
- - I'll pursue shifting the burning system to the older Mac as time and other priority issues are solved. Until then, I have to either Edit OR Burn discs. . . Can't do both at once.
- - The newer MP4 software has a few thousand setting options but I think I'm getting there. Quicktime 7.1 freebie for Windows runs them very nicely. But, I'll keep testing the other settings to find the best Rez..
- - Shipping is moving along well again. . .: Current orders are no problem. Domestic DVD back-orders are almost complete. Internationals require a little more "special handling" to meet customs regs.... but, that stack is shrinking as well.
- - I took a "clue" from Mike at Smoke Signals... A pen and labels are much less aggravating than the USPS "shipping" site print system.
- - I've solved a lot of issues and am working through others. Looking forward to the light I see at the end of the tunnel. Assuming it's not a bullet-train headlight, of course<g>

Added a VS 120 MP4 . . . It's about 4 minutes and about 25 megs. It's my most recent "shot" at DVD level clip encoding.

I'll take (guarded) pleasure in some significant progress on the second set of serious technology issues to hit me in the last few months. I think my weeks in manuals, discussion groups, software utilities, et al, brought back my primary machines with an acceptable loss of a small amount of imported video and about sixty percent of the hard-drive stored DVD masters.
I'm still in test mode for all the subsystems on the editor and duplicator so cross your fingers. I've already found one project I'll have to reconstruct for the third time.... (Insider 8 Allwhites - Long Whites. The last one looked perfect if you like silent movies<g>)

Test page for MPEG4s using different configurations/settings

All of the MPEG4 clips below were cut with Quicktime pro 6.0. All have played not only on my Mac but on my (now three year old) Windows XP pro with Quicktime Player for windows Version 6.3 (dating from 2003)

I have received only two reports of issues with these Mpeg4s.

First from a Mac User who said:

Hi Ed Don't know if it's just cos I'm on a Mac but your new mp4s download as .txt files.The full termination comes out as .mp4.txt If I remove that ending and just leave up .mp4 they play in QuickTime sometimes but not always-says it's not a file QuickTime understands Just get a huge text file if I don't download them to disk by the way. Well if its all working for Windows don't let it bother you.We Mac folk have to take what comes Just thought you'd appreciate the feedback site continues great as ever.

The easier one was from a Windows XP user who was unaware of the freebie (and non-Bill-Gates-intrusive) Quicktime player which is free at apple.com. His response was:

Hi Ed, Thanks for your quick response. My OS is Windows XP. I did go to the Apple site and successfully load Quicktime. Earlier, as you started posting mpeg4 clips, I had gone to Google and Yahoo search engines inputting "mpeg4 player download" and all I got was alot of technical jargon that I could not decipher. I enjoy your work immensely. I hope all is well and hang in there. Best regards,

I have cut several different formats/settings for these clips (oddly enough, some full scale clips with or without streaming "hinting" or settings for ISMA(1) or server download speed settings come out as the same file size regardless of image size.. check the 320X240 against the full size clips.

It's already after midnight so I'll just plug in the clips (keep track of the filenames) then open a Poll in a day or so in Colight Members at Yahoo to determine how many problems may exist. I'm not that proficient at this "codec" thing....

If any Mac or windows Quicktime specialists are out there, let me know.. I have some caps of some clip settings which may help people like the one Sardax had with mp4.txt (???)

Also killed my blog for the day.. Today went to e-mail, finializing & shipping Insider 8 Allwhites, and this MPEG issue among others...

The blog (and poll) may also seek input on a reported "blue spot" in the middle of Callies' Extreme clip from last week. I've watched both the original and the MPEG4 copies on both of my systems (Mac & XP) but have not spotted a flaw. I asked him for a time-hack to pinpoint the flaw.... Any other's who have had the same results please use the new s.------e e-mail address

Back on my feet again. Oral anitbiotics did nothing..... and these shots hurt.
Spent my first day back on the road for supplies. I wanted to upload this "notice" so it would be in place.

I may also have someone to take up some of TJ's duties. Training and limited hours will be the tough part. First will be to take care of orders that sat while I was laid-up. Lots to do.

- A new video is ready for release. A long untouched "forced" feminization project that needed a program like Final Cut.
"TV Is For Sissies" is a single storyline that involves a willing young TV submitting to advanced conditioning by lesbian couple. Amiko, & Maddie use applied psychology to turn his own mind against him. Behavior training, sexual arousal/denial, verbal humiliation, and bi-sexuality are the major themes.

Colight is switching to CC Bill. After months of promises to pay, I am retiring I-Bill as the processor for Colight.com. I and TJ are working to be ready for CC Bill when they open on Monday.

We will make the change as painless as we can. Loyalty counts in our view.

TJ will be here Sunday after 2 pm central time for those who wish to use our in-house system. She will also be individually e-mailing I-Bill/Colight members with options based on your specific account.

Once active, CC Bill will handle all but Visa for the first four to six weeks. MC, AMEX and Discover will be immediately accepted by CC Bill.


The last four months have been rough... but at least I can plan on being able to pay the girls again.
There is more footage to go with today's additions to the Glam Smoked page and the Dark Miscellaneous page.
Since both my webtools and capture gear is on *this* machine... I thought it better to post the completed work ASAP.

Total time for this update will be 30 unduplicated minutes once the uncapped part 1 of Aron's piece is in place tomorrow afternoon.. More to come but at least it's a start....

I have been adding footage to several long standing projects over the last few weeks. Some I have shot in my usual fashion. However, I have also been trying to push for more dynamic work. Long hours have produced a smaller than usual amount of footage for a "Leather boi" video as well as some other work. But.... I think you are really going to like it...

The recent legal issues with I-Bill's upstream processor has kept me between an economic rock and a hard place for well over two months. That weight is supposed to start dissolving starting tomorrow... (December 1st) ... I'll know more over the next few days.

This nonsense had a murderous impact on my day to day operating resources. It may seem that I was ignoring you... but focusing my limited resources on finishing standing projects and testing some new faces seemed to be the better long term plan.

All this grief has me looking into adding CC bill as a second processor for Colight. I'll feel safer and you will have more options.....

First things first.... This is not the entire update. I still have a little diddling to do on the new capture drive. Scandisk, etc. will take a while. I'll be able to cut more clips in the morning.

DOS (denial of service) attack. Colight was never off-line last week. Our front door was hit by an endless stream of "entry requests" designed to log-jam our system. This is known as a DOS attack. The little robots attack didn't allow any other requests to reach the Member's Area front door.

My E-mail software hasn't let me answer or forward!!!! I've tried various repair and selective software reloads for fear of losing all my mail.... I'll have to bite the bullet for a complete reload....

The site is now over 12 gigs. The vast majority of it is video. Part of my abscence has been moving it to a new drive and double checking it against the original....

One of the goals I mentioned was to keep all content in one site and not create "archives" or "annex's." I chose to wait until the site was of decent size and then review the footage for release on VHS and DVD's. These will contain only selected site content. The first of this series is the "new" release of "Insider #1 _ Ivy." It will be followed by one of Nadja as well as a limited number of specialized titles.

I've included a few sample clips on the member's index page from a project currently under edit. Bad Boy. It will be a complex edit but worthwhile. The premise is that Nadja turns the tables on a blackmailer

Update belated for a few reasons. I won't list 'em all... but I am re-capping a lot of my recently cut clips. A persistant default setting kept capping my clips at 160 X 80 instead of 320 X 240.

I capped these clips from my timeline in a pretty linear fashion. I started with Nadja & Nikki paired up for some clips. Then Chris & Allie follow. Nikki adds some Ashtray POV work. Have more to import now that these are off the hard drive.

I'll be here through the holiday so expect more throughout this week and the weekend.

On the up-side: After all these months, I finally received a small smile at my last visit to the Doc's office. I won't push my luck reading too much into it... but it's a good omen for myself and my work.
