| Q: When I left click to view a file with Media Player, I receive gibberish? |
| A: This is probably due
to a missing plug-in that allows Internet Explorer to recognize WMV's.
Test the file by Right Clicking on the clip link and selecting "Save Target As." Save it to your hard drive. Open Windows Media Player. Select "File" then "Open," Find the file you downloaded. If you can view the clip once it's stored on your hard drive then your browser (and possibly the operating system itself: Win98, Win 2000, etc) may need an available multimedia plug-in. |
| Precautions: |
| 1. Clean your temporary internet files and browser "history" files often. |
| 2. Use Refresh if in doubt. |
| 3. Close ALL browser windows you have open before cleaning your files and retrying anything. They all share data. |
| 4. Find out if you are using a proxy server. Cleaning your computer's stored files will do no good if your proxy has copies saved in your name (proxy's are like hotmail, etc) If that's the case, then only time will wipe them out of the proxy server's cache. That's why several people could only find the old "entry page" when it no longer existed on the server. Their proxy had copies. |
| 5. If you have the option of saving the WMVs to your drive using "Right Click > Save Target As" but have not had time to explore the Window's Media Player's "Playlist" function; Take a look at the player's help file under "playlist." I think you'll like the speed and flexibility. |

Internet Explorer 6.0 issue:
Probably not necessary since Microsoft fixed the patch, but just in
case..... |
If you still need assistance you may write to me. Please include such info
as; Win or Mac, Internet explorer version, Windows Media player Version, your
computer's speed & RAM, and of course, the nature of the problem. Remember,
I need more to go on than "Why won't the clips work?"
